LEXINGTON OUTREACH

Most of us don't realize this but there are people from unreached people groups who live right here in Lexington, KY. Our welcoming ministry exists to make and build relationships with the international students on the University of Kentucky's campus as well as the many refugees who live in apartment complexes to initiate a CHURCH PLANTING MOVEMENT that multiplies throughout Lexington among our international friends.
GET INVOLVED
We have a consistent weekly outreach in the Lansdowne area where many refugees from Syria, Iraq, and Turkey live. Through these outreaches, we are able to make lasting friendships with the families and start meeting with them in more intimate settings. We have a solid relationship with Lansdowne elementary as well where our ministry assistant goes to help the students learn English throughout the week, which sows into those relationships and the sharing of the gospel. We hope to see this model replicated in other areas around Lexington.

Prayer Walks

We prepare the ground for outreaches with prayer walks. We believe that what we sow, we shall reap. And we want to be a people who are sowing into the land with prayers, praying for fertile ground, and persons of peace to rise up in the different apartment complexes around the city. Prayer walking is essential in preparing for our times of outreach.

Lexington Testimonies

The last few months, the Lord has allowed me to befriend and minister to a Turkish woman here in Lexington. From the moment we first met, the Lord has shown me time and time again that this woman is a person of peace. I felt the Holy Spirit open the door for me to ask her to read the bible with me in that first encounter. And she said yes! And since that day (a few months later) we have continued to read the bible together almost weekly! Each week I see that her interest level grows and she has more and more questions about Jesus. Last week she asked me to share the gospel with her and so I did! It was amazing but I also felt that because of the language barrier, there were some parts of the gospel that she didn't fully understand. So this week, I invited her to watch the Jesus film with me and two other international ministers! The film definitely stirred something in her heart but also stirred up a lot of fear. Because she is not a devout muslim, she considers herself a "bad muslim" and that believing in Jesus would cause her to be an even worse muslim. We spent about an hour after the film discussing the differences between the freedom Jesus provides and the law that islam enforces. Above all else, we wanted her to understand that Jesus' love is unlike any other love. I think she understood this more fully from watching the movie but her fear is stopping her from accepting that love. Please be praying for my friend and that Jesus' love would overcome all fear in her heart.

PRAYER CARDS

Most of us don't realize this but there are people from unreached people groups who live right here in Lexington, KY. There are 20 unreached nations represented here in Lexington. These prayer cards are a helpful tool to know how to pray for revival to break out among the international students and refugees living right here among us.

“I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you have loved me.” - John 17:23
